BPC-157

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide made up of 15 amino acids and is derived from a naturally occurring protein found in human gastric juice, often referred to as body protection compound (BPC). The parent compound is known for protecting the gastrointestinal lining and supporting tissue repair, and BPC-157 retains many of these regenerative characteristics. Preclinical and in-vitro research has shown that BPC-157 supports wound and tendon healing, promotes angiogenesis, enhances blood flow to injured tissues, and helps regulate oxidative stress. It has also demonstrated protective effects on the digestive system, with studies examining its influence on gastric integrity, organ protection, and cellular responses relevant to gastrointestinal conditions. Mechanistically, BPC-157 has been studied for its role in fibroblast migration, collagen and reticulin formation, nitric oxide signaling, and macrophage activity, all of which contribute to tissue repair processes.
